Organizing for Kids

Wouldn't life be easier for us all if we learned how to take care of our stuff from a young age so that clutter didn't take over when we get older and our responsibilities multiply?

Asking our kids to "clean up their room" seems easy and obvious, but as Lorraine Brock of Get Organized says "Telling your munchkin to “clean out the closet” is like saying, “go drive the car.” Set kids up for success (and tame mess) with systems...". If you're an organizing guru yourself, remember to teach, not preach - not doing it for the kiddos, but helping them do it for themselves. If you're NOT the organizing guru, Professional Organizers are a valuable resource for getting your spaces in shape, from a closet, to a room, to the whole house!

It's the little things :)

Little kids like the most mundane things. For example, my son LOVES car washes (luckily, the Green car wash - just south of Frankfort on Preston - has unlimited washes for $19.99 LOL). We could probably go through that thing every day and he'd be happy, commenting on the "brushes!", "Water!", and "Soap!". He loves the blenders at Jamba Juice, and the free cookies at Target and Kroger.

Remember, parents, you don't have to spend much to make the little one's smile! Just keep your ears peeled for those happy moments when they occur, and enjoy them with your little ones as much as you can!

Welcome to my blog

Hello Parents and Friends of Kid Express!

We've been in the "parent stress relief" business for 1.5 years now and have very much enjoyed it! With our blog, we're looking to share observations, funny annecdotes, information and tidbits that we pick up along the way. We hope you enjoy it, and appreciate your comments - especially if you have something valuable to share with other stressed-out parents!

Thank you!
